President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari as Special Adviser on Political Affairs, elevating him from his previous position within the administration.
Masari had earlier been appointed in 2023 as Senior Special Assistant on Political Affairs. His new role as Special Adviser places him in a higher advisory position within the Presidency.
According to a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the appointment reflects the President’s decision to strengthen political coordination within the administration.
Masari, a politician from Katsina State, is known as a long time associate of President Tinubu and has played roles within the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Before his appointment into the Presidency, he served as the Welfare Secretary of the party during the tenure of Senator Adams Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the APC.
In his new position, Masari will work alongside Alhaji Yau Darazo, who was appointed Special Adviser on Political Affairs by President Tinubu in July 2023.
The office of the Special Adviser on Political Affairs plays a role in supporting the Presidency on political engagement, party relations, and coordination with stakeholders within the country’s political space.
Masari’s promotion is expected to strengthen the President’s political advisory structure as the administration continues its governance agenda.
The announcement was made by the Presidency through Bayo Onanuga, who signed the statement in his capacity as Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
