War in Iran is rapidly escalating after the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iranian military facilities, triggering retaliation and raising fears of wider regional conflict. Explosions were reported in several locations, including Tehran, as Iranian air defenses were activated and military installations came under attack.

Among the key targets were underground military sites. Reports said the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps underground Damavand headquarters was hit using bunker buster bombs. The extent of damage remains unclear, and Iranian authorities have not released official casualty figures.

Unconfirmed reports also claim that several senior Iranian military figures have been killed in targeted strikes. These include General Mohammad Pakpour, commander of IRGC ground forces, and General Ali Shamkhani, a senior official and close aide to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. There were also claims that Amir Hatami, Iran army chief and former defense minister, was killed. Iranian authorities have not confirmed these reports.

The residence of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was also reportedly targeted in repeated strikes. There has been no official statement confirming damage or casualties at the location.

Iran responded with missile attacks targeting a United States military base in Bahrain, according to Iran Tasnim news agency. The attack marked one of the first direct retaliatory actions outside Iranian territory since the strikes began. Regional air defenses were activated as tensions spread across the Gulf.

Israeli Air Force fighter jets, including F 15 aircraft, were seen patrolling Israeli airspace as part of defense operations. The aircraft were deployed to secure Israeli skies amid fears of Iranian retaliation and possible wider confrontation.

The conflict has also triggered strong reactions from Iranian opposition figures. Iran former crown prince Reza Pahlavi publicly praised the United States and Israel for the strikes, describing them as action against the Iranian government. His remarks drew attention amid reports that some people gathered in certain areas inside Iran following the attacks, while others remained indoors due to safety concerns.

The military escalation follows decades of hostility between Iran, the United States, and Israel. Iran has repeatedly warned it would respond to any attacks on its territory, while Israel has accused Iran of posing a direct threat to its security.

The situation remains fluid, with reports still emerging and many claims yet to be officially confirmed. Communication disruptions and ongoing military operations have made independent verification difficult.

Military activity continues across the region, with both sides preparing for possible further confrontation. The coming hours and days are expected to determine whether the conflict expands further or stabilizes under international pressure.
