Senator (Dr.) Prince Ned Nwoko has shared a detailed account of ongoing problems involving his wife, actress Regina Daniels, and her siblings, especially her brother Sammy. In a statement posted online, Nwoko described a series of troubling incidents that he said had caused tension in his home and affected Regina’s health and recovery process.
According to him, Sammy had made several uninvited visits to his home, often behaving in a way that frightened his children and staff. These visits, Nwoko said, became more aggressive over time, especially when he was not around. The senator explained that he had supported Sammy financially in the past, sponsoring his last two years at the University of Ekpoma, buying musical equipment for him, renting and furnishing a flat in Abuja, and even purchasing a house in Asaba for Regina before their marriage. “I also gave allowances to all members of the family, including her mother, Rita Daniels,” he said. “In the past two years alone, I transferred ₦125 million to her.”
Nwoko said Regina’s doctors had advised strict restrictions on visitors during her rehabilitation program. The therapy began after he noticed worrying changes in her behavior, including going long hours without sleep and eating excessively every two hours. He said these signs were linked to drug use. The doctors advised that only trusted people should be allowed near her to avoid any interference with her treatment.
However, according to Nwoko, Sammy, Destiny, and some of Regina’s other siblings ignored those medical instructions. He claimed they would show up unannounced, bring in illegal substances, and undo the progress Regina had made in therapy. “Instead of helping her recover, they encouraged her addiction,” Nwoko stated. “Lawrence and Sammy were the ones who first introduced her to these substances and continued supplying them.”
He said their actions made the home unbearable, as their visits always came with shouting, insults, and harassment of security officers stationed at the house. “I neither drink alcohol nor smoke. I am a vegetarian. I found their lifestyle and influence very disturbing,” he said.
Recalling a recent event, Nwoko said he woke up around 4 a.m. to find Regina high and talking on the phone in his room. When he asked her to leave, she said Sammy’s girlfriend was in her room. Upset that someone linked to her addiction was inside his home, he instructed his driver to take the girl out. “Thirty minutes later, Sammy arrived at my house, shouting and demanding to see me. He said I had no right to send his girlfriend away,” Nwoko recounted. “He threatened me and my staff, waking the entire household, including the children. My security had to escort him out.”
He said Regina’s behavior also changed drastically whenever he wasn’t home. She would argue with the police officers guarding the house and verbally abuse them when they tried to stop her from going out. In one instance, she stayed out all night and returned at 9 a.m., claiming she had been at a nightclub. Another time, on their children’s birthday, she left for dinner with friends and didn’t come back until late the next day.
Nwoko blamed this conduct on drug use and bad company. He identified one of Regina’s friends, Cassie, as a supplier and said her presence in Regina’s home made therapy “a waste of time.”
The senator denied claims that he ever sent people to attack Regina. He said the viral video that circulated online was filmed in front of his own house by Regina’s sister and her friend while he was away. “Nobody was beaten. It was all staged for social media,” he said.
Nwoko added that he had done his best to help Regina’s siblings find stability. He said he sponsored Lawrence’s master’s degree in London with $75,000 and offered Sammy the same chance, but Sammy refused, choosing to stay in Nigeria for his music career. “Sadly, he has been arrested several times by both the police and the EFCC,” he said. “His behavior has become more violent, and he needs rehabilitation and professional help.”
The senator ended his statement with a note of frustration and sadness. He said his goal had always been to help his wife heal and maintain peace at home for the sake of their children, but the interference from her siblings made that almost impossible.
