The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have released a video accusing Hamas of staging a fake discovery of Israeli hostages’ remains in Gaza. The footage, now available on YouTube, reportedly shows Hamas operatives moving human remains from one location to another before pretending to “find” them in front of Red Cross representatives and photographers.

According to the IDF, the video was filmed yesterday and clearly shows Hamas terrorists removing body parts from a pre-dug structure, re-burying them nearby, and then calling in the Red Cross to stage a false recovery scene. Israeli officials say this was done to deceive both the international community and the families of hostages still held in Gaza.

“Hamas is lying about our hostages, and here’s the proof,” the IDF said in its statement. “Despite claiming difficulty in locating the bodies of deceased hostages, Hamas continues to hold and manipulate the remains it refuses to release under the agreement.”

The IDF also dismissed Hamas’s claim that a lack of engineering equipment has delayed the return of the bodies, calling it a baseless excuse. “Such tools are unnecessary for the transfer of remains and do not prevent the return of the deceased hostages,” the statement read.

Israeli officials described the incident as another example of Hamas’s “cruel tactics” and “information manipulation.” The IDF said the video confirms that Hamas has continued to use hostages — both living and dead — for propaganda and political gain.

The footage, credited to the IDF, shows militants working around a shallow grave and later summoning observers to document what they presented as a new discovery. Israeli officials say the act was designed to draw sympathy and distract attention from Hamas’s refusal to release the remaining hostages.

The Red Cross has not issued an official response to the IDF’s claim, but Israel has called on international bodies to review the footage and condemn Hamas for violating humanitarian norms.

Families of hostages have reacted with anger and heartbreak, saying the video reinforces their fears that Hamas is exploiting their loved ones’ suffering. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also condemned the act, calling it “a new low in Hamas’s campaign of deceit.”

The IDF said it released the video to expose Hamas’s lies and to remind the world that the return of every hostage remains one of Israel’s top priorities. The video, now public on YouTube, adds a disturbing layer to the ongoing conflict — showing how even the dead are being used as tools in a battle over truth and perception.
