2Baba shares an emotional letter as he celebrates 25 years in the Nigerian music industry.

Music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has penned a heartfelt open letter to mark his 25th year in the Nigerian music industry. The letter, titled “Open Letter of Gratitude: 2Baba @ 25 Years in the Industry,” was shared ahead of his anniversary celebration set for November 14, 2025, at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

In the message, 2Baba thanked his wife, family, friends, colleagues, and fans for their unwavering love and support throughout his career. “Looking back, I realize that every step I took was guided by people who believed, supported, corrected, and inspired me,” he wrote.

He paid special tribute to Nelson Brown, Baba Keke & DI, Eddie Lawani, and DJ Jimmy Jatt for their roles in shaping his early journey with the legendary group Plantashun Boiz. He credited them for believing in him and his bandmates when they had little more than a dream and a microphone.

Addressing his longtime manager, Efe Omorogbe, 2Baba described him as “a brother, backbone, and soldier,” thanking him for his steadfastness and honesty. He also acknowledged his former bandmates, BlackFace and Faze, calling them his “co-pilots in the beginning of this flight,” and said the world would always remember what they built together.

To his colleagues, producers, DJs, media houses, and fans, 2Baba expressed deep appreciation for standing by him through the years. “This milestone belongs to all of us. You’ve been my strength, my mirror, and my motivation,” he wrote.

Reflecting on his journey, the award-winning singer said his 25 years in the industry have been marked by “faith, love, resilience, and unity.” He added, “This celebration is for everyone who has ever been part of my story. I am because you believed.”

2Baba’s letter ended with a simple but powerful message: “Without you, there’d be no me.”
