Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sarah, attended the opening ceremony of the new John Gendel Rehabilitation Center at Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus.
During the visit, Netanyahu met with young Israeli soldiers who were injured while defending the country. He described them as true heroes, full of strength and courage.
I saw in their eyes not despair, but hope,” he said. “They told me, ‘For the sake of the country, we will continue to fight, we will return and fight again.’”
Netanyahu praised the soldiers’ determination and said their spirit reflects the strength of Israel’s younger generation. He called them “the great generation of the people of Israel.”
He also noted that the new rehabilitation center represents more than just progress in medicine — it also symbolizes Israel’s resilience and the will to overcome hardship. “From Mount Scopus,” he said, “grows not only advanced medicine, but also the spirit of victory of Israel.”
The event brought together medical staff, patients, and officials who celebrated the center’s opening, which aims to help injured soldiers recover and rebuild their lives through world-class medical care and therapy.
